Earlier this year and for the first time, we organized a yoga workshop at the Mallorca Marriott Son Antem Golf Resort & Spa. It received a lot of positive feedback and the instructors were delighted and are already planning a sequel. 

The wellness package included the yoga workshop, dinner, accommodation with breakfast, a relaxing massage and access to the Spa. Different classes such as Thai Chi/Qi Gong, gym introduction, Yoga and Hormone Yoga were offered by different instructors.

The Hormone Yoga class was a new experience for many of the participants. Hormone Yoga consists of special breathing exercises which massage the inner organs in order to stimulate hormones. The exercises involved are helpful during the menopause but also popular among younger women as they generate new energy and wellbeing. The exercises can easily be done at home without a trainer.

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle has become an essential to most of us. One way to keep fit is to work out regularly at the gym. Our new cardiovascular machines are equipped with TVs and I-links which make them easier to use.

The gym at the Son Antem Spa in Mallorca is equipped with new cardiovascular machines from Life Fitness. The attached TV screens allow you to connect your USB, iPhone or iPod. The machines provide programmes to find the right workout session for your level. In addition, you can take advantage of a virtual trainer who will guide you through the chosen programme which might be a bit more entertaining. Another advantage is that you can select between different languages and national measurements for example kilometres or miles.

Basically, you can use the machines if you want to concentrate on fat burning or on cardiovascular strengthening. For fat burning your pulse rate target should be about 65 to 75% for at least 1 hour where as for cardio training your heart rate target is from 76 to 85% for as long as you can.

The best way to reach your goals is to come in to the gym and experience the machines and all their abilities for yourself, together with healthy tips from our personal trainers.
