To improve animal welfare, it takes a lot of commitment and animal love. The Son Antem cat project is a positive example of animal protection which depends on continuous donations.

The Son Antem Resort used to be farm land with hunting ground and animals. Many animals are therefore still around, especially the cats. To control the cat population in the resort and improve their quality of life, the cat project was born.

 Mr. & Mrs. Déak, Marriott Vacation Club Owners, and Katrin Gebhardt created this project.

Katrin passes by every day to the 10 feeding stations in the complex and to make sure they get the medication they need. Mr. & Mrs. Déak support her every time they visit Son Antem. In addition, the SOS-Animal Association in Calvià, supported by a non-profit organization “Europäischer Tier- und Naturschutz” (ETN), is co-operating with the castration of the animals.

This project is entirely financed by donations. Resort guests can support the project with donations to guarantee the success and continuity. Collection boxes are placed at the hotel reception and at the cash point by the Market Place.
